Collections
This was my first range, created during Covid when time slowed and space mattered more. Each piece draws from places I know well or remember clearly, whether close to home or further afield. They represent a shorthand for the kind of places that stay with you.
The collection leans into geometric abstraction, but always with a sense of place. Birds, coastlines, countryside are quiet moments rendered in clean, modern forms; not to romanticise them, but to distil them. The palette is calm, the compositions deliberate. It’s about clarity, not decoration.
What they capture:
- Familiar landscapes stripped back to essentials
- A sense of stillness without being static
- Designs that feel modern but rooted
- A starting point for things that followed . . .
Geo‑Art is a collection of greeting cards and prints built around geometric abstraction. Each design takes a familiar subject; a bird, an animal, a reptile and strips it back to shape, colour, and structure. The style is clean, contemporary, and deliberately minimal, but always grounded in something real.
The eyes are the anchor point in every piece. Even with the geometry pared back and the detail reduced to facets and angles, the eyes hold the character of the animal. They give each design its presence. Everything else builds out from that centre.
This collection grew from the original work on ed‑lewis.co.uk, but it stands on its own: more focused, more consistent, and designed to work as both art and everyday design. Whether as a print on the wall or a card sent to someone, the aim is the same; clarity, balance, and a quiet sense of place.
Why people choose Tideaway
Tideaway brings together three connected bodies of work: the original ed‑lewis collection, the geometric wildlife range of geo‑art, and this Tideaway Studio site that brings them into one location with future collections in mind also. Each part has its own identity, but they share the same approach; clean design, strong structure, and artwork that’s rooted in real nature.
The works are created in‑house and printed professionally externally. Whether it’s a print or greeting card, the focus is the same: clarity, balance, and a style that stands out because it’s consistent, not loud.
Customers choose Tideaway because the quality is reliable and the experience is straightforward. Prints and cards are produced on premium stock, colours stay sharp, and orders are packed and shipped with care. You deal directly with the person who designed the work; not a fulfilment centre or automated system which means quick turnaround times and support that actually understands the product.
